this is a public service announcement.

please, please don't leave the house in yoga pants unless you are actually heading to a yoga class. and if you MUST go to the grocery store in them, you know in the event of an emergency, please choose one that is next to a gym. at least that's what i do and then no one is ever the wiser, well until they see that there's a box of hostess cupcakes in my basket. after all i said it was an emergency ;)

but in all honesty, i'm only looking out for you. yoga pants are a slippery slope. at first you're all "oh it's just this one time and who's going to notice? they're black after all and look so much like regular pants. I'll just put on this cute matching zip front jacket and be quick. just in and out"

then all of a sudden you're leaving your house in your husbands red sox t-shirt from the '86 glory years and flannel snowflake pajama bottoms, wondering if no shoes really does mean no service. and then you end up a square on wal*mart bingo or worse an actual spy photo on the people of wal*mart website.

do yourself a favor just don't do it. i respect you more than that and realy a cute t-shirt and a pair of jeans (even mom jeans) is a better option in the end.

wow, i'm bad at this!

i think i might have to make a promise to myself to be better about keeping up here. as august quickly faded into september i kept thinking, no the summer can't be over it's still only...oh wait 2 weeks from halloween! eek! literally :0 i guess time flies by when you're chasing a toddler around with a fresh diaper.

so here it is. my promise. i promise to sit down and think about writing something here more often and perhaps even hitting save and close in the process. the past few days have been productive ones and the oven has barely had time to cool off. with cool winds blowing the leaves off the trees and into my back hall come a need to bake and fill my belly with comfort food. so recipes will come along and some festive decorating tips too, and sooner than later. i promise!
